Urban Planner, Public Health - Nova Scotia Health Aurthority
Ali Shaver is an urban planner with Public Health – Nova Scotia Health Authority. Over the past few years, her worked has focused on building partnerships with municipal planners and engineers to embed a health lens in municipal plans and policies. Ali has a passion for developing both healthy public policies and collaborative projects that support more socially just and equitable communities. Some recent projects Ali has been involved with include supporting the development the Integrated Mobility Plan for Halifax, leaving Public Health’s first health impact assessment, and co-creating Halifax’s first Mobile Food Market. Prior to joining Public Health, Ali’s work focused on developing Comprehensive Community-Based Plans with First Nations communities across Canada. Ali has her Bachelors of Recreation Management from Acadia University and her Masters in Environmental Studies from York University.
